Bangkok Shopping Guide: Where to Find the Best Deals & Markets
If there’s one thing Bangkok does best — it’s shopping! From luxury malls with air-con bliss to buzzing street markets packed with bargains, the city is a dream for shoppers of all budgets. Whether you’re into designer fashion, indie boutiques, or unique handmade finds, Bangkok has it all.
Best Places to Shop in Bangkok
Bangkok’s malls aren’t just shopping centres — they’re entertainment hubs with food courts, cafes, cinemas, and live events. Here are some of my favourites:
Terminal 21 – Each floor is themed after a different city (London, Tokyo, Paris…). Affordable prices, great food court, and plenty to explore.
EmSphere – One of Bangkok’s newer malls with stylish local and international brands.
ICONSIAM – Luxurious riverside mall with designer stores and one of the best food courts in the city.
MBK Center – Connected to Pathumwan Princess Hotel; perfect for affordable fashion, electronics, and souvenirs.
Siam Paragon – Home to high-end labels, luxury goods, and a gourmet supermarket.
Siam Square – Full of trendy Thai, Korean, and Chinese boutiques, cafes, and small street-food spots.
CentralWorld – One of the biggest malls in Bangkok with options for every budget.
EmQuartier – Sleek, modern, and great for beauty, lifestyle, and high-street fashion.
Central Embassy – Upscale, elegant, and perfect for a relaxed shopping day.
Platinum Fashion Mall – Ideal for wholesale fashion and accessories — bring cash and get ready to bargain!
EVEANDBOY – Beauty lovers’ paradise with Thai and international skincare and makeup brands.
Big C Supercenter – Open until around midnight; great for snacks, souvenirs, and budget-friendly essentials.
Markets & Local Finds
Chinatown Market (Yaowarat) – Great for food, handmade jewellery, and local trinkets. Visit in the evening to enjoy the lively night-market vibe and cooler air.
Chatuchak Weekend Market (Fri–Sun) – My absolute favourite! With over 15,000 stalls, you’ll find everything from clothes and homeware to art and vintage treasures at unbeatable prices.
Local Tip: Go early (before 11 AM if you can), wear comfy shoes, and stay hydrated — it’s massive but totally worth it. You can easily spend half a day wandering through the maze of stalls!
Bangsue Junction Shopping Center
If you’re visiting Chatuchak, don’t miss Bangsue Junction, located right across the road. It’s a hidden gem packed with vintage clothing, handmade accessories, retro collectibles, and indie fashion boutiques. Perfect for anyone who loves thrifting or discovering unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Pro tip: Start your day at Chatuchak for bargains, then cool off at Bangsue Junction for some air-conditioned vintage shopping — it’s the ideal combo for a full Bangkok shopping day.
Getting there: Chatuchak is easy to reach no matter where you’re staying. Take the BTS Skytrain to Mo Chit Station or the MRT to Chatuchak Park Station.
Taxis are also affordable and convenient.
My tip: If you only have a few days in Bangkok, stay near Terminal 21 — the area is full of malls, restaurants, and nightlife that stays open late. It’s safe, central, and perfect for first-time visitors.
Night Markets
Bangkok comes alive at night, and many areas have local night markets that pop up after sunset. They’re perfect for a relaxed stroll, street-food tasting, or picking up last-minute souvenirs. Wherever you stay, check Google Maps to find a night market nearby — you’ll almost always discover one within walking distance!
