Maitria Hotel Sukhumvit 18 Review
After staying in three different hotels during my trip, Maitria Hotel Sukhumvit 18 easily became my favourite hotel in Bangkok. It’s tucked away from the city chaos but close enough to walk to nightlife, shopping, and restaurants — giving you the best of both worlds.
Location & Area
The hotel sits in a calm yet super convenient part of Sukhumvit. Within walking distance, you’ll find Terminal 21, Emporium, and the new Emsphere Mall, where you can enjoy affordable food courts, trendy restaurants, and even a rooftop club that comes alive at night.
There are massage and nail shops everywhere, plus a 7-Eleven with an ATM just down the road — honestly, one of the best I found in all of Thailand! Right opposite the hotel, there’s also a foreign exchange booth and a local restaurant, so everything you need is right on your doorstep.
When you want to escape the city noise, Benchakitti Park is just a short walk away — a peaceful green space with lakes, walking trails, and wildlife.
The Room & Facilities
The rooms are spacious, modern, and super comfortable — the bed and pillows were some of the best I had during my stay in Thailand. It’s peaceful, well-designed, and perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring the city.
Downstairs, you’ll find vending machines and weighing scales in reception — such a thoughtful touch if you’ve been shopping and want to check your luggage weight before flying home.
There’s also a gym and rooftop pool on the top floor, perfect for staying active or cooling off without leaving the hotel.
Final Verdict
If you want a quiet, comfortable, and convenient stay in Bangkok that still keeps you close to the best malls, nightlife, and local life — Maitria Hotel Sukhumvit 18 is the perfect choice. It’s also very well priced, offering great value for the quality, space, and facilities you get.
Perfect for: shoppers, couples, and anyone who loves calm comfort in the middle of the city.
Downside: limited breakfast options and not much of a view — but everything else more than makes up for it.
